Goal Post #1

posted May 5, 2010, 9:57 AM by Jim Magrogan   [ updated May 5, 2010, 10:12 AM ]

Last Thursday afternoon there were no doubt many keeping their fingers crossed that an email would land with the news that the games would once again be postponed. What a mistake that would have been. Instead of another evening polishing and lacing boots in eager anticipation; everyone had a joyous and invigorating evening sliding across the manicured pastures of the Truckee Meadows. Oh to be in England on a summer’s day. Yes, the season finally got underway – if you ever needed proof that I am not a populist you have it now.

The Week That Was:

            Lift-‘n-Pints 3 v 4 Red Hot Tamales

Wright Stuff 0 v 3 Mt. Rose Chuters

            Blue Mooners 3 v 2 Chaingang

            Pink Panthers 0 v 5 AARP

A couple of close ones and a couple of not so close ones; I am told though that the score lines did not necessarily reflect the balance of the games. Proof will be in the puddin’ so they say. On even better note, not a card in sight!

Game Postponement Policy

Although I am now optimistic that the questionable weather is behind us it is advised that you check your email at 3pm on a game day  just in case a postponement has to be announced.
